COSMA CELEBRATES AS LADOJA LEADS THE RETURN TO PDP

COSMA CELEBRATES AS LADOJA LEADS THE RETURN TO PDP:

The Coalition of Opposition Social Media Activists (COSMA) members have been ecstatic since the news of the return of High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja to the Peoples Democratic Party; yea, the stone that the builder scorned has become the cornerstone. COSMA excitement is understandable due to the reconciliation moves they birthed since July 2016. It is our strong persuasion that the return of Pa Ladoja and other returnees' have only boosted our confidence in the unity of the opposition camps in Oyo State.

Things started unfolding in rapid succession since the Supreme Court affirmed Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic Caretaker Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party and the reconciliation that started rather precariously and gradually in Oyo State began to take shape and brighten the hope of formidable opposition. Saying this is very commendable is either being stingy with words of mischievous.

However in my Oyo State, the political headquarters of the South West and the base of most of the opposition gladiators, the reconciliation was taken with pint of salt because such moves in the past never turned out well. In fact, they only widened the gap the more.

Now, Ajimobi will grow more grey hair and become slimmer because this successful move is a consistent nightmare to him until 2019 elections; don't be surprised to know that Obaship misadventure was party of the moves to divide the electoral potential of Ibadan, ahead of this reconciliation and perceived political fortification of Ladoja.

As we earnestly await other leaders announcing their gallant return to the umbrella of the mother of opposition political parties in Nigeria, we know the work has just started and we must ensure we put Oyo State first in all things. We are not the Pacesetter state for nothing, we must set commendable pace and keep at it.

Ladoja has shown the way and gone ahead to tread the path; congratulations to COSMA members and true lovers of democracy who value the position of vibrant opposition in strengthening of democracy.

Long live Oyo State and short live the stay of the Emperor of Agodi and his cohorts.

AJIMOBI GOOFY MOVES ON IBADAN ROYAL TRADITION. By Mogaji Adejumo

The call came at about 10pm on Sunday night, my Aburo, Mogaji Adanla was at the other end, his message was precise, The Olubadan will like to see a few of us Mogajis by 10am this morning at the Palace.
Both Mogaji Adanla and I, went to the palace in the same car and met in sitting, two other Mogajis... One of the two Mogajis we met, however had to proceed to Oyo Alaafin to see the Iku Baba Yeye... On this same matter!
Quickly the Three of us remaining got down to business. And I will avail everyone with the outcomes, but before then, the background story.
I am sure not a few already know of the present happenings in Ibadan at the moment regarding the issue of the elevation of some Chiefs to Obaship and the elevation of some Baálès to be called and addressed as obas...
But what many do Not know is that there are many things wrong with this process as the very foundation of the Uniqueness of the Ibadan Traditional Chieftaincy Tradition has been Rocked and Destabilized!
The tendency of this purported reforms has been to put the offence of sacrilege in the same position as allowing women to come out and make a mockery of the Ololu Masquerade... It is that Bad!
From the beginning of Time, an Arole 'Badan, a Mogaji is an Olubadan in the making, who is the owner of the family land and property. The Mogaji is higher than a Baálé, and this is so because a Baálè can NEVER EVER become Olubadan!
When a Baálè is to be appointed, it is the Mogaji who will Nominate the person of his choice, with perhaps the impute of the elders in the village to so appoint a Baálè... Now a Baálè is to then be an Oba over the Mogaji that appointed him!?? Koseleri!
I go into my ancestral villages of Adejumo, Elenu-Sonso, Aba-Igbagbo and the Baálès get up for me... So what happens now!??
Se won fe ba Aye yi je ni!??
And regarding the elevation of the High Chiefs to Obas without domains, Obas without palaces, what exactly, is the point!?
These so called Obas, Cannot even begin to appoint Chiefs of their own, and they are still meant to be Otun, Osi, Ashipa, Ekerin, Ekarun to the Olubadan and The Balogun!??
I as Mogaji, I am FORBIDDEN TO PROSTRATE to anyone, save for The Olubadan, ditto for these high Chiefs turned Obas... So I ask, what happens to the traditional greetings to the Olubadan by the High Chiefs who, by tradition MUST REMOVE THEIR HATS, and prostrate fully to the Olubadan.... How and where then, will these Obas now do the traditional greetings to the Olubadan.... With their so called crowns removed and then, they will stand to greet their monarch or what!??
Oba Ibo ni won je!?! Where are their domains!!
I saw with my eyes when we got to Ali-iwo compound, the inscription, "Alali-Iwo of Ali-Iwo", which brings to the fore, serious questions — The present Otun Olubadan is from Ali-Iwo compound, he is also the Mogaji Ali-Iwo and if he then becomes Olubadan, who then becomes Alali-Iwo, since only a son from Ali-iwo compound can be so called!
Are we now going to be having Royal families in Ibadan!?! Koseleri!
The Olubadan Stool is by SUCCESSION AND ASCENDANCY.....!
No Royalty exists among us...!
THE WHOLE THING IS SIMPLY PREPOSTEROUS...!
So, us Mogaji met with The Olubadan and we bared our minds, vowing to oppose this absurdity and aberration.... Therefore we have gone to court to challenge this process, which potentially is capable of disrupting the very peaceful Ibadan Chieftaincy Traditional practice, which has made succession and ascendancy to the Stool of Olubadan, a very Enviable and Laudable process...
I am Not permitted to reveal all that transpired between us three Mogajis and our Royal Father, but suffice it to say, The Olubadan showed us his support in many ways, And in a show of solidarity, His Imperial Majesty stepped out of his palace and we all joined him in a motor ride to all the places that matter within the Ibadan metropolis, from his palace to Oja-Iba, to Oje, Itu-Taba, Agodi, through total Garden to the Secretariat, then to Bodija, Sango, Mokola, Dugbe, Oke Bola, Labaowo, Agbeni, Foko, Idi-Arere, Bode, and back to Popo - Yemoja!
Whilst we were at Dugbe, a call came from the Osi Olubadan, Senator Rashidi Ladoja that we should allow his people to join the motorcade which we accepted, and his people promptly joined us, a total of about 24 cars!
I must say this... It may Not be possible for the majority of those living in Ibadan not to have heard of what happened in Ibadan today... It was Spontaneous, it was Awesome!
The reception was great!
The people trooped out in large numbers to show profound solidarity with their King.. Ibadan erupted in Loud jubilation and it was Unprecedented!!!!
By this very extemporaneous action, Ibadan Has Spoken!
We say, a Very Loud "NO", to this aberration of "koseleri" reform, which potentially is capable of affecting the peace, energy and synergy of the Ibadan, the city that protects its own and ancient traditions....
Ibadan le mo, e o mo Layipo!

BROADCAST BY PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, AUGUST 21, 2017.

BROADCAST BY PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI,
AUGUST 21, 2017.

My dear citizens,

I am very grateful to God and to all Nigerians for their prayers. I am pleased to be back on home soil among my brothers and sisters.

2.     In the course of my stay in the United Kingdom, I have been kept in daily touch with events at home. Nigerians are robust and lively in discussing their affairs, but I was distressed to notice that some of the comments, especially in the social media have crossed our national red lines by daring to question our collective existence as a nation. This is a step too far.

3.     In 2003 after I joined partisan politics, the late Chief Emeka Ojukwu came and stayed as my guest in my hometown Daura. Over two days we discussed in great depth till late into the night and analyzed the problems of Nigeria. We both came to the conclusion that the country must remain one and united.

4.     Nigeria's unity is settled and not negotiable. We shall not allow irresponsible elements to start trouble and when things get bad they run away and saddle others with the responsibility of bringing back order, if necessary with their blood.

5.     Every Nigerian has the right to live and pursue his business anywhere in Nigeria without let or hindrance.

  6.    I believe the very vast majority of Nigerians share this view.

  7.     This is not to deny that there are legitimate concerns. Every group has a grievance. But the beauty and attraction of a federation is that it allows different groups to air their grievances and work out a mode of co-existence.

8.     The National Assembly and the National Council of State are the legitimate and appropriate bodies for national discourse.

9.     The national consensus is that, it is better to live together than to live apart.

10.   Furthermore, I am charging the Security Agencies not to let the successes achieved in the last 18 months be a sign to relax.

11.     Terrorists and criminals must be fought and destroyed relentlessly so that the majority of us can live in peace and safety.

12.     Therefore we are going to reinforce and reinvigorate the fight not only against;

·       elements of Boko Haram which are attempting a new series of attacks on soft targets

·       kidnappings, farmers versus herdsmen clashes,

·       in addition to ethnic violence fuelled by political mischief makers. We shall tackle them all.

13.   Finally, dear Nigerians, our collective interest now is to eschew petty differences and come together to face common challenges of;

·       economic security,

·       political evolution and integration

·       as well as lasting peace among all Nigerians.

14.     I remain resolutely committed to ensuring that these goals are achieved and maintained. I am so glad to be home.

15.    Thank you and may God bless our dear Nation.

THE FAKE TEXT OF PRESIDENT BUHARI SPEECH

I am happy to address you all today on my return from medical treatment in the United Kingdom. It is by the grace of Almighty Allah that I am here with you.

I want to begin by thanking every Nigerian who prayed for my quick recovery. I also wish to thank those who lost patience with me. I understand your feeling. We have so much work to do in this country that every minute lost is a disservice to our people.

My special thanks goes to the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. He held the fort in my absence. I’m very pleased with his performance despite the difficulties our political structure imposed on him. He did the job of leading this nation so well that I have a renewed confidence in our leaders of tomorrow.

I also thank the National Assembly, my ministers, the members of the judiciary, our security forces and civil servants across this nation who go to work everyday and look up at the picture of their leader who had been absent for long and still dedicate themselves to the task of the day.

Being sick is a human condition. While we pray that sickness does not befall even our worst enemies, it is one of those life experiences that ‘will come when it will come’. For those concerned about the financial burden my illness must have exerted on our nation, I want to dispel your fears.

Though as your president I am entitled to receive medical treatment anywhere that my doctors deemed best, I’m waiving that right. My family and friends will take care of my medical bills.

As leaders, we must lead by example. I promised to end medical tourism if elected president of Nigeria. Two years after, it has not happened. You do not have to go far to know that it has not happened. My absence from Nigeria for 103 days makes it evident. It is my personal failure. I own up to it, the same way I own up to all that we promised but have not accomplished.

As part of my renewed commitment to this country, in my remaining days as your president, I will make sure that no president of Nigeria will again have the need to travel abroad to receive medical treatment. We have done greater things in the past. We can do this.

In the last two years, we have opened the window of opportunities for tens of thousands of our young people through the N-Power entrepreneur scheme. We have school children in 13 states of Nigeria receiving free lunch at school as part of our Homegrown School Feeding Programme. In 9 states, over 26,000 are receiving N5,000 stipend a month from Conditional Cash Transfer Programme. We have stabilized the Naira and the economy. No matter how raw and uneven it may have been, we have taken a stab at the fight against corruption. Though it is still with us, its wings of impunity have been clipped. And instead of unrelenting on this fight, we are reloading and refocusing.

We have made strides here and there, but for many, the change that we promised has not materialized. In some cases, the change has taken many of our people two or three steps backwards. To them, it is hard to preach that stepping back is part of the process needed for a forward push. They may have seen the rams do it, but that does not mean that they will understand it and embrace it when it means doing with less meat in their pot of soup.

For me, this period of ailment has been an opportunity for great reflection. If I had an illusion that I would always be with you, that illusion is gone now. I will not always be with you. But I know that Nigeria will always be with you. I, therefore, come back with a renewed commitment to leave a better nation for you all. In the little time that I have left in this role as your president, I want to see a more united Nigeria for all.

Our unity can only come if we create an equitable and just nation.

I have had time to look at Nigeria from outside. I have watched with great interest how the wheels of the nation work from afar. They are not working well. All that we were afraid of are happening now.

We shall confront them. But more importantly, we shall confront the nursery where the anomalies are bred.

In re-committing myself to the Nigerian project, I am determined to listen to, and understand, the people at the fringe of our society. More often than not, we fail to give them our ears and assume that what they have to offer has little or nothing to do with our lofty dream for the nation. That, I have come to understand, is a false premise. All voices are needed in the negotiation for the advancement of the Nigerian project.

Moving forward, balancing the Nigerian project to give it a solid sense of equity and justice is paramount to me. I want all those who are committed to come to us. I want those at the forefront of the fight for restructuring Nigeria to bring to me proposals and blueprints on how to make things better.

I want to balance the seats in the House of Representative to make it fair to all. I want the number of states in each geo-political zones balanced. I want to see the resources of this nation shared in such a way that those from the areas where these resources come from do not feel cheated by the rest. I want to devolve power from the center. I want to free the regions to stand on their own. I want the geopolitical zones enshrined in our constitution. I want the presidency to rotate amongst the zones. The number of local government in each zone should be fair so that local government allocations to each zone would not be lopsided.

We need to sit down and articulate the blue print of how to make Nigeria great. I want a master plan of what should be done on my desk in six months. We need them in specific terms.

We have to radically transform this country if we want it to survive. I’m looking for a holistic treatment of all that ails us.

With the remaining time that we have, we want to set things right to make it easy for those coming behind us. We cannot wait. All along, the military has been the one putting in place constitutions and structures. Our democracy is mature enough that we can do them ourselves in tune with the desires and goals of our peoples. If we can accomplish that, the rest of the task of governing this beautiful country should be a lot easier, not just for this generation but for generations to come.

You won’t always have Buhari with you, but my job is to make sure that you will always have a Nigeria, an equitable and just country for all.

Political defeat of one section of the country only leads to progressive defeat of the whole nation.

I am ready to defend this vision of a new Nigeria with the last breath in me.

It is very unfortunate that we have been programmed to believe that in a family, injustice to one does not impact the cohesion and commitment of the other to the family. But it does. It is the reason for all the rumblings we hear in our dear country today.

To ensure my commitment to this, in a few weeks, we will convene a meeting in Aso Rock with all the young people who are so dissatisfied with the Nigerian project that they have decided to opt out of it. We want to listen to them and forge a way to regain their trust. The youths of this nation are the most important resource that we have. That should not be just a mantra to be given mere lip service. It is a statement of fact that we need to hold sacrosanct.

My generation has played its part. We must have the courage to begin a systematic disengagement so that the next generation can take the lead. I have seen them in technology hubs across Nigeria, on the streets hustling, in schools and in markets. I am confident that they can take this nation to glorious places.

If this our present malaise is a spell, it has run its course. Our mumu don do.

Thank you for listening and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

THE CHRISTIAN COMPASSION AND GOOD WORKS AS WITNESSING:

THE CHRISTIAN COMPASSION AND GOOD WORKS AS WITNESSING:

THE INFLUENCER CHRISTIAN NETWORK - Whatsapp Group Session with Pastor Adeniyi Rotimi Akinfenwa-Johnson -- 12/08/2017

TOPIC: Christian Compassion and Good works as witnessing.
TEXT:  Matthew 5: 13-16. (KJV or Amplified)

You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.

My emphasis is the verse 16: Let your light so shine before men... we are responsible for the shining of our lights.

Aim:
To make us, as Christians live in the consciousness of the fact that we are the Epistles people read and our acts of compassion and charity minister Christ more than our words; ministers love to the perverse world and to awaken us to these great responsibility.

Introduction:
This online teaching and group chat is not to condemn anyone of us but to remind those who are already likeminded of the task to love and express compassion and to also show those who have not, the reason to reach out to the world in love.We are the salt of the world and salt doesn't have effect unless it mixes with the content, to bring out the good taste. That's why we stir the food after adding the salt. After the cooking, we only know how the salt has influenced the food, not how the food influenced the salt.  I often say that Christians in our generation hate sinners but secretly long to have a taste of sins. We must be able to detest the sins in the sinners without hating the sinners; that’s the challenge; loving the unloved and showing compassion to those who do not deserve it.

(Col. 3:12 Amp :  Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].

Phil 2:1-3 KJV: If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

Phi 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Permit me to digress briefly by commending the Convener of this platform for this great vision because we must of necessity de-emphasise denominations, foster unity and encourage fellowship of the body of Christ beyond walls and borders. I must also appreciate this opportunity to share with the brethren of this important topic, at such a time as this. Sincerely, I am not disappointed at Rev Jerry Orhue yielding himself as a vessel in God’s hand for this task.

Now, the body of Christ in Nigeria and Christians generally must know that for every act of negligence in reaching out to our communities and neighbours in love, we miss the opportunity of making the Epistle legible enough for them to read and therefore drive them away from the gospel.  We are so spiritual that we don’t communicate effectively with people of other religions: the Olumba, Muslims and idol worshippers. They know you worship the almighty God, they already feel inferior to you and expect a token of compassion from you but rather than minister in love, we are relating to them in Pentecostal arrogance or afraid of them as if they have superior power. It is ironic that we fear these people who are actually afraid of us but we don’t know what we carry.

As The Influencers, we must of necessity mingle with the world without being of the world. We must influence the world without being one of them. Before, the worldly musicians will change gospel songs and hymns to hip pops to get acceptance and popularity required for good sales but now, the so called gospel musicians change worldly tunes to gospel songs, then you wonder who is influencing who; their inspirations come from the world, not the Holy Spirit. If we had focused on reaching the North East with good missionary education, health care facilities like the colonial masters who got us converted, we MIGHT not have this much volunteers for suicide bombing. Though all things work together for the good of those who love God but we have a responsibility to discharge towards the heathen and that is why I said our actions and inactions have great consequences. This is not an issue of denomination or culture, this is an issue of making the difference where tribalism and bigotry have divided us; the whole world is waiting earnestly for the manifestations of the “Influencers”.

We must apply the great commission to the demands of our generation and make it solution to our national problems.

CONCLUSION: As a young Christian, respect for the elders; polite greetings and responses will attract them to you. As ministers, a cheerful countenance when greeting a Muslim and exchanging pleasantries can mark you out as a different fellow and might want to know your God because of you. We must do this consciously as we board public transports, buy fuel at filling stations, take children to school, relate with our neighbours and even brethren from other denominations or churches. When someone is thinking of church to go, would they think of following you to Church, would they want to get closer to the Jesus you preach due to your conducts?

As salts, we must consciously add ourselves to make maximum impacts in our generation, influence the world for God and be legible epistles they can read and be drawn to our Christ. Remember, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us and to influence the world for Christ, we must love the people and hate the sins in the world, not the other way round.

The constrain of time will not permit further insight but I commit this seed in your hearts into the hands of the Holy Spirit for bountiful fruits.

Thank God again for this precious opportunity and trust that he that has begun a good work in us and this group is able to complete it.

The grace of our Lord Jesus be with us all. Amen.

92 DAYS TOURISM, BUHARI IS CORRUPT

92 DAYS TOURISM, BUHARI IS CORRUPT.

I have tried to ignore the agitation for Buhari's registration since the countdown to his 90 days outside the country started but I just can't pretend I am not bothered. Buhari or anyone in government is not more Nigerian than I am; we all stakeholders in this project.

This trip is self exile because his media aides have done so much to convince us that the health of Mr President is not as terrible as we thought and in fact, all his guests are hosted in the residence, not hospital. So, for Mr President to remain abroad, eating with guests, calling those bereaved and sending salah messages in Hausa, he has abandoned his mandate and official responsibilities to live with "Mama Charlie "

Everyone has a price and it only might not be monetary and though Mr President may not be pilfering our common treasury, he's also involved in abuse of office and perversion of recognized standards. The constitutional provision for this case has been breached and his handlers hand looked the other way. Excuse me, how patriotic is this President who asked President Yar'Adua to resign if his health can't stand the rigour of this office?

I have always suspected that all these noise about anti corruption is because Mr President doesn't lust after or love money but he loves power and cows; willing to turn the whole country into grazing field, the same way those that list after landed properties want to own all properties in choice locations across the country. Remember, when people died, you never see Buhari carrying but when he was denied opportunity to rule, he carried.

My submission: this is the defining moment for Mr President and his handlers and he has failed woefully. He swore to defend the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria but he has violated it vagrantly. He has demonstrated that under the appropriate circumstances, he will manifest his own corruption, though it may not be money. This government has disobeyed many court orders and made utterances that suggest the electorates are insignificant and ignoble.

It is very easy for any incumbent government to accuse the previous administration of corruption but it's actually after the tenure that you can judge how corrupt the present one is and compare with the previous ones. I can understand why many state government disobey court orders now; their leader doesn't have any regard for rule of law.
Corruption goes beyond stealing from public treasury or mismanagement of funds but abuse of office and breaching known standards of operation and service rules are all part of corruption and if that's the case, Mr. President too is corruption and corruption can't fight corruption successfully; it's just a friendly game. No wonder it's all noise and no real conviction.

One thing is sure; we are not really ready for the positive changes we clamour for, we are just fantasising.

God bless Nigeria.

SEN ARTHUR NZERIBE; SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT

SEN ARTHUR NZERIBE; SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT:

This picture went viral last week with different sermons and horrible biography of Senator Nzeribe but I beg to defer; For truth sake, Francis Arthur Nzeribe is 78yrs old.

1. Many upright people in Nigeria don't even live up to 78yrs.

2. With this picture, he's more healthy than many 78yr old patriotic Nigerians.

3. If it's his many atrocities against the masses that made him this frail and on wheel chair, then Buhari must be a wicked person too to be confined to hospital bed in UK.

MY SUBMISSION:
This picture is as meaningless as it appears and that someone is bedridden doesn't make him or her a sinner, particularly after 70yrs. Truly, all is vanity but we must convey such messages appropriately. Even David in the Bible, the man after God's heart was bedridden before he died; let's just get our public focus right. Sen Nzeribe is not currently holding any office and he's not accountable to the public for his health or public appearance, let's hold those who should be accountable, accountable and stop being petty.

Those that have violated the constitution with such imprudence, making excuses for illegality and setting disgusting precedences are there, laughing at us, while we spend time on trivial matters.

Just trying to set the records straight.

Ojasope cares!
